In 1968, I was diagnosed with Glormarlnephritis, a kidney disease.
For30 years doctors and medication prolonged life, but in 1998, I was put on dialysis and told I had a short time to live.
I was placed on the transplant list and remained on dialysis for 4 years.
I got the call for transplant on March 1, 2002. I was excited, nervous, and was looking forward to a better quality of life. On Saturday, March 2nd I was transplanted.
After the transplant, I felt great and was ready to go.I left the hospital 5 days later.
My experience has been nothing but good.
Today I enjoy educating others on the importance of organ donation by volunteering with Vital Alliance. I coach soccer for 7 year-olds, and enjoy the blessings of family.
