| I was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis in April 1998.
After a left hepatic resection and hepatic ojejunostomy I was healthy enough to stay on active duty in the Air Force.
My condition deteriorated to the point that I was placed on the transplant list in February 2005 and was transplanted in October 2005.
I am a critical care RN so I have experienced both sides of the transplant process.
We have been blessed with continual communication with my donor family and that has helped with the healing process for both sides.
I am currently working as a Transplant Patient Educator at University Hospital in San Antonio.
